This policy applies to all Attorney Shield Members ("You") and to all Attorney Shield platforms and services, including our applications, websites, member web portal, technology, facilities, and other services (collectively, the "Attorney Shield Platform"). It applies only to personal information, not to aggregate information that does not identify You. Your use of the Attorney Shield Platform is also subject to our Terms of Service.
When You use the Attorney Shield Platform, we collect information You provide, usage information, and information about Your device. We may also collect information from other sources such as service providers and optional programs in which You participate.
Member account registration: name, email, phone number, birth date, gender identity, optional profile photo, payment information, and identity-verification details such as a government-issued ID. You may also provide optional details intended to help the attorney understand your situation, such as driver's license number, insurance company, gun-owner information, and emergency contacts.
Ratings, feedback & communications: any information you include when you rate the platform, contact us, or respond to surveys, including the contents of messages or attachments.
Location (geolocation): we collect your device's precise location when you open and use the app, including in the background from the time you request Legal Support Services, to maintain a complete record of the interaction and to inform your designated emergency contact. Additional collection is always opt-in.
Usage & device information: service-request details (date, time, location, payment), pages and content viewed, device model, IP address, browser, OS, carrier, identifiers, and push tokens. Optional sensor data may be collected for future enhanced features.
Storage files & video footage: images you upload are securely stored for your access and, only during active consultation, the Law Firm's. Video shared during an active Legal Support Service is privileged and safeguarded under attorney/client privilege.
Release of privileged information is permitted only: (1) at your written request (or a minor's parent/guardian); (2) at your legal representative's written request with a signed release or power of attorney; or (3) by verified court subpoena or judge's order.
Cookies & analytics: we use cookies, pixels, analytics tools, SDKs, and similar technologies to operate, secure, and improve the platform and to personalize advertising.
Enterprise/distribution partners, referral programs, and other members or public/third-party sources (such as law enforcement, insurers, or media) may provide information about you, subject to disclosure obligations.
We use your personal information to provide the platform; maintain its security and safety; build and maintain our community; provide customer support; improve the platform; facilitate Legal Support Services; and respond to legal proceedings and requirements.
We do not sell your personal information for money. No one can buy the personal information we collect, and we do not act as a data broker.
We may share information with other members (such as emergency contacts, family-plan members, referral recipients, and parents/guardians of minor accounts) and with the supporting Law Firm/attorney to provide effective Legal Support Services. We share categories of personal information with service providers to operate the platform, for legal reasons and to protect the platform, in connection with a sale or merger (under confidentiality agreements), and upon your further direction.
We retain your information for as long as necessary to provide the platform — profile information while your account is active, and transactional information for at least seven years to meet legitimate business and legal obligations. We take reasonable and appropriate measures to protect your information, though no security measures can be 100% effective.
You can unsubscribe from promotional emails and texts, control push notifications and location sharing through your device settings, review and edit profile information, manage cookie settings, and request account deletion by contacting customer service. In some cases we may retain certain information for legitimate business or legal obligations.
The platform may link to third-party sites with their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for those third parties and recommend you review their policies directly.
We may update this policy as the platform changes and privacy law evolves. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the platform or another method such as email. Continued use constitutes agreement to the most recent terms.
