Frequently asked questions.

We are here for you. Everything you need to know about membership, the app, the attorneys, and the warranty.

Getting started

Attorney Shield provides 24/7, on-demand video access to licensed attorneys for law enforcement-initiated encounters such as traffic stops and pedestrian stops. Knowing your rights is one thing — having an advocate present to make sure those rights are respected in real time is another.
Think of us as your Legal First Responder for any law enforcement-initiated contact: traffic stops, auto accidents, being detained for investigation, and more. The mission is a de-escalated environment that keeps the encounter safe and professional for everyone involved.
Enrollment is simple: basic contact details, your state of residency, and payment information. You can also store copies of essential documents — ID, insurance, proof of citizenship — in your Digital Glovebox inside the app, so everything is in one secure place.
You can use the 7-day trial to explore the mobile app and upload your documents. If you connect with an attorney during the trial, your membership activates immediately. Otherwise, it automatically converts to your chosen paid plan at the end of the 7 days unless you cancel beforehand.

During an encounter

Use the app the moment law enforcement initiates contact — pulled over, approached on the street, or contacted at your residence.
  1. Open the app: select your incident type then tap the Attorney button to start a call immediately.
  2. Connect instantly: within seconds, a live attorney appears on-screen.
  3. Position your device: make sure the officer can see and hear that the attorney is present. The attorney monitors the interaction, advises you on your rights, and speaks with the officer to keep the encounter within legal bounds.
A licensed attorney trained as a Legal First Responder. The network averages 16 years of experience — specialists in de-escalation and constitutional rights who know how to navigate high-stakes environments like active investigations and field interviews.
No service can promise specific legal outcomes. What you get is a Legal First Responder who works to de-escalate the situation and ensure proper protocol is followed. With the encounter recorded and your rights asserted, you're in the best position to navigate whatever follows.

After the encounter & warranty

No one can guarantee the actions of others, but the Member Protection Warranty stands behind the mission: if you incur qualified out-of-pocket costs — such as traffic fines or towing — after a covered encounter where you used the app, it provides reimbursement support.
When the encounter ends, your video is securely stored for access upon request. To get your copy, contact Member Support at support@attorney-shield.com from your registered email address.

Account & technical

After purchasing a Family Plan, it's all done in the app:
  1. Log in to your Attorney Shield account.
  2. Tap Plan Detail under profile options to confirm you're on a Family Plan.
  3. Tap Add Sub-Accounts on that same screen.
  4. Enter each member's name and email and submit.
They'll receive an email invitation to register. Coverage follows them wherever they live, while billing stays centralized under your account.
Tap Forgot Password on the app's login screen and we'll send a reset link to your registered email. We recommend staying logged in so you're always one tap from support.
Some security apps (like Nord or Norton) can slow the connection. For a clean install: temporarily uninstall the VPN/firewall, install Attorney Shield and log in, then reinstall your security apps. During a real encounter, temporarily disable your VPN/firewall before requesting support for the fastest video connection.
